District Service Area

The Hopewell District of the Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America, serves the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers and leaders of Warren County and east-central Butler County in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area.

District Leadership

The District Committee is the leadership of the district.

Scouting Terms

  • Scout/Scouter/Venturer - A participant in the programs of the Boy Scouts of America.
  • Leader - An adult who has volunteered to provide leadership to Scouts.
  • Crew - A unit that serves young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21.
  • Pack - A unit that serves boys between 1st and 5th grades.
  • Troop - A unit that serves boys between the ages of 11 and 18.
  • Council - An organization that is chartered by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America to serve the Scouts within a geographic area.
  • District - An administrative unit within a Council that serves the Scouts within a portion of the area served by the Council.
