From Hopewell District
Advancement is one of the cornerstones of the Boy Scout and Cub Scout programs. Advancement helps maintain interest in the program and encourages boys to learn at their own pace.
The Advancement Committee promotes scout advancement through:
- Providing advancement opportunities, where appropriate
- Training leadership in proper advancement techniques
- Helping units set and achieve advancement goals
- Maintaining standards across the district
- Record keeping and goal setting
- Promoting Merit Badge Challenge
- Supporting the training of the Merit Badge Counselors
- Providing training and advancement opportunities to the youth in our district
- Promoting adult awards
Dan Beard Council Advancement Committee
The Hopewell District Advancement Chair and Committee Members participate in the Dan Beard Council Advancement Committee to ensure that standards are consistent across the Dan Beard Council.
